THE IDEA OF THE PROJECT AROSE ON THE BASIS OF SEVERAL FACTORS:

Ensuring the safety of Ukrainian citizens is the most urgent issue now, in the conditions of war, and which will definitely be a priority for many years.
Studentship is the environment where courageous business ideas can and should be born that would raise our country's economy.
Нexisting bomb shelters in higher education institutions are uncomfortable and function only as a place to wait out the air raid alarm.

and turn them into safe, innovative educational hubs that will work permanently and bring together creative young people in times of danger and peace.

We strive not only to support the continuous educational process in Ukraine during the war but also to implement innovative and comfortable security solutions, to lay the foundation for the post-war recovery of our country today.

FIRST SPACE

The first smart shelter was installed in the book depository of the central library at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The Peker & Partners studio developed the spatial design project. The chief architect of the studio, Pavlo Peker, has experience implementing similar security solutions in Iraq and Libya.

SMART SHELTER FOR KPI

We initiated the CLUST SPACE project at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in October 2022. We spent a little over half a year in the preparatory stages, including selecting and clearing the premises, designing the project, seeking funding, and completing paperwork.

In July 2023, we began renovation work.
Construction was completed in December 2023.

The first innovative shelter for students in Ukraine is fully operational. It includes a large open space – an area for learning that transforms into a lecture hall, a conference room for various student events, a gaming zone, meeting rooms, reading areas, coffee breaks, and small group study spaces.

CLUST SPACE is not just a temporary solution to education challenges during the war but a systematic effort towards student development. Post-war, the space is intended for hosting student events, presentations, conferences, hackathons, and more.

It is a ready-to-use security solution that can be scaled to cover the entire territory of Ukraine. We have such ambitions and aim to establish similar spaces in other universities across the country, actively seeking partners.
